Yes and No. It really is all just luck of the draw. 1233 isn't a 'BAD' overclock, it's just average. one of my references clock to 1300mhz and the other is 1250mhz or so.

Still debating between this or the ASUS one......I need a good 680 for folding and my eventual catleap lol.

Still luck of the draw man. It's never 100% and I do agree that the chances are higher for boards like the lightning's. But still, it's not a guarantee. As long as it runs at their clocks, that can still be all they give you.

I guess my best bet is buying a used card that does 1300mhz which I think is very unlikely from where I'm from. im seriously considering getting a 7970 now. really underwhelmed with the OC i got with this gtx 680. a friend of mine with the same card did 1300mhz and 1833mhz on the memory with his jetstream. he claims he can get it even higher if it's only benchmarking. mad.gif

All Galaxy SoC do 1300mhz.. Most do 1300mhz boost out of the box with out touching a thing..

They come advertized at 1267mhz boost stock... We know most cards boost past what it says they do.. Most people are getting between 1280-1320mhz stock Kepler boost from the Galaxy SoC Hall Of Fame card.

It is the fastest out of the Box Gtx 680 by a good 65mhz.

Well this card is very loud above 60% fan speed...

Also it has no DL DVI port which the catleap needs..
your not going to be able to have more then 2 catleaps using this card due to no DL Dvi ports
You will be restricted to the two on your ref Evga card.
Unless you buy a DP to dl dvi adaptor which are around 35$ on Ebay..

Im about to do the Dwood Antec 620 mod on both my 680s..
Thinking of just bolting the rads into one and put a nice fan on them see how they do..
If it is not good enough ill do Rad fan rad fan.
Id just get the Asus 680 top.. it is going be more quiet for you folding .

Then when it comes time to sell put the stock heat sinks back on sell them buy new then do the mod to those lol.

Hey guys, sent my 670 back to Amazon and hopefully by Saturday I should get my 680 FTW 4GB, but I have a quick question. Does this card have a mini-HDMI port or is it a regular sized HDMI port?

- Grammar *censored*, this was sent from my phone.

Water cool the card and get a modded BIOS that enables more than 1.175 volts. Or just get a modded BIOS and a good aftermarket fan. These cards are capable of good clocks with more volts. Your card is doing good at those clocks. My Zotac GTX680 4GB maxes out at 132% 150% 250% with (1228MHz, 1625.5 ram 1.175 volts)

Depends on the card if it's reference then it's regular HDMI or atleast that's what mien is.

my temps are really good and never goes above 65 degrees. my power target also never goes above 90% which I was told was a good thing. dunno if that's holding back my OC or not but my power target always stay at the 70-80 range. highest I've seen it went up to is 89% for a split second(prolly a bug i dunno). from what I've read a 7970 at 1200mhz would beat my 1200mhz gtx 680. anyone with experience with both cards? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot and get a weaker card instead
