It only gives ASIC for the card that it shows on the bottom of GPU-z. If you click on GPU 2 or whatever and do the ASIC again it will tell you the second cards reading.

"Basically ASIC is the fab for a specific chip such as a CPU, GPU, etc. The ASIC quality that you see on a GPU is a measurement of the "quality" of your specific chip versus what the target spec of what the fab was intended to be. We all know that NVIDIA and its resellers bin chips based on its ability to hold clocks, function at specific voltages, and mitigate thermal wattage. So the ASIC quality is essentially GPU-Z's way of measuring the quality vs spec of the Application Specific Integrate Circuit or ASIC.

This is why you will typically see higher end GF110's such as GTX580's have a higher ASIC quality than lets say a 560 or 570. They are all essentially the same silicone, but have been altered in terms of clocks, voltage, and functioning cores based on how they fared against the ASIC spec of the GF110. The highest ASIC quality scores will likely come from the FTW, SC, SSC, cards and the likes of GTX580 Classifieds and Ultras "

my 570 is 86% and it will clock 972/2300 (not to many 570's can clock that high) ,i think 80~90% is where you want to be ,i noticed some 580's @ 105%

Whats the benefit of the 680 back plate? Or, is just for looks? Do you recommend it?

I thought someone said the backplate also helped with temperature a little.
Does anyone have a GTX680 watercooled yet? I'm just wondering once you have the fan off, do you hear a coil whine like the ATI 7970's have them?
I never noticed it on the 7970 UNTIL I went watercooled, since the fan usually masks the sound.
The back plate is purely aesthetic.

Depends which gpu-z

mine was 103% with gpu-z 0.58, with 0.59 its fixed and now it shows correct 87.6%.

My second 580 Lightning is only 73%. frown.gif So much for binning eh?

Just for comparison I did a max settings run in Heaven 3.0 with my 580 Lightnings at 940MHz and here is the result:

338

Not too bad going by the numbers I've seen here and in the 7970 thread. Really wish I could get 950MHz stable but its a no-go at this point with Heaven....
