[Official] NVIDIA GTX 680 Owner's Club - Page 486

post #4851 of 6048
Okay, mind about to explode. Just got the Asus gtx 680 2gd5 ref card on trade here at OCN. I cannot believe the difference in OC methods from my gtx 560ti 448 classified sli set up. Anyway, I think I have a grasp on it, but am having an issue.

Here is where I am at.

3d mark 11 scores

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4643352

It never fails the fur tests and it always runs 3d mark. However, it keeps crashing at the same point when I run heaven.
Here are my settings

It seems to crash on any setting but stock at this point. The killer is that I have made successful runs on heave at + 240.

I know one would call my OC unstable, but this seems odd. Are there known issues with heaven?

I am currently running the most recent beta drivers that I got yesterday. Note: I did it with production drivers as well.

It seems to pass every test but Heaven.

Note: Temps never go above 42.

Also, since the voltage is hardware controlled, I just want to make sure that it is okay to leave them at the settings about in the screen shot.

Note: Virtu MVP seems to need to be uninstalled while benching. It inter-fears with the tests.
Has anyone used virtue MVP for the virtual v-sync and does it work?

Update: Did did some testing with Batman AC and Max Payne 3. Ran both no problem on max settings.

Looks like I had an unstable OC after all. Was playing Max Payne 3 and it kept crashing.

With more trial and error, I got this.

Core= +210
mem= +575

Give me a 1216 core with 1319 boost.

Got 11686 in 3dmark 11

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4649182

Got decent scores in Heaven

This should take care of it. I will be testing it more with gaming. Should be nice and stable at this point.

Thanks to everyone posting here. Lots of good data. biggrin.gif

So I had an chance about 3 weeks ago to upgrade my 580 to 680 but I heard the the new Nvidia series are coming out soon. Did I make the right choice or just wasted my stepup?
post #4858 of 6048
Wonder what the big differences will be. I am not happy with 1 680. I want another one.
post #4859 of 6048
What kind of resolution are you playing at? I doubt you need a 2nd 680 on a single monitor setup.

Hey guys, does anyone have a tutorial on how to unlock 100% fan speed and/or remove throttling at 70c on my card? I've saved my bios using GPU-Z and can give it out if necessary. It's a Palit Jetstream GTX 680 2GB. Thanks! smile.gif
