They are still pretty close in terms of gaming performance. I wouldnt trade if i were you, your card does not get any worse, even if amd is evolving wink.gif

E: if you sell and buy a brand new amd card, you wont have any extra $ so definitely not worth it. Trade would be ideal if you can squeeze money out of it. Remember, we still have physx and better 3D support.

Wow. so many sad & depressed GTX 680 owners in this thread. Take it easy guys that extra 6-7% won't make a world difference.
Nvidia released 310.33 Beta and it has some improvements for some games. After this release I doubt the GTX 600 at their full potential and they will probably release another performance driver after not so long time.
The good thing about this 12.11 driver it did at least make Nvidia's driver team to be more active and release at least a driver with some performance improvements. 304.48 to 306.97 I hardly felt the difference in real world gaming.
I know the drivers this generation are stable, but I think they are not as good as the drivers from Fermi days, Nvidia released drivers constantly almost every week for GTX 400/ 500 series.

I would hold off until the new 8xxx series comes out first. Our 680's are still ridiculously powerful and pretty much overkill for anything. I wonder if nVida will respond with better improvements, you'd think they will, if not then they need to drop their prices asap!
from where I'm from 680's are ridiculously overpriced. I'm gonna get rid of this asap before nvidia announces any price drops. even the money id get from selling my card would be enough for a 7970 DirectCU II TOP. seems like a fair deal to me. my 680 oc's like crap anyway. I hate it tbh

My card has dropped 70 bucks already

Just look at it like this, right now two 7950s crossfired cost less than a gtx680 4gb but perform with a gtx690........... Burn me once, shame on me.

Lower end cards having better price/perf is nothing new. Flagships always have a premium attached, if you don't know that then you had it coming redface.gif

I think you guys are placing to much value in the marginal lead the 7970 has in fps. What's 3 extra frames a second compared to the power you save or the better driver stability? I've owned 7970s and 680s this gen and couldn't care less about the 1 or 2 fps lead either way. From a multi-gpu perspective, my experience with 680s has been so much less annoying than 7970s in CF. As far as overclocks go, I have a friend who couldn't get his Sapphire 7970 OC past 1150MHz no matter what voltage he pushed through it. You're just as likely to get a garbage overclocker on either side of the fence.

Could be that you have a better experience with the 7970s, but these things are just something to consider is all. The grass isn't always greener, and swapping would be a side grade at best.

+1 on this. Can't believe you guys are complaining that you got a GTX 680 since I'm sure when you bought it you were thinking the same as everyone else here "This is definitely the greatest card ever!" and suddenly 7970 beats it by 3-5fps and the world is ending. Geez. It's an equal card which might or might not overclock better than our GTX 680 (which has a higher resale value btw) and does not have PhysX or adaptive vsync (etc.) what could you possibly be complaining about? Anyway, I'm happy with my 680, you can always sell me your 680 and get a 7970 and I'd be glad to relieve you from your pain. Assuming I had the money now that is, which I don't lol.

Would it be worth it to sell my 2GB GTX680 and buy a 4GB GTX680?
