My 3Dmark11 score is barely breaking 10k. I have a i7 920 @ 4GHz.. I've seen people with Sandys breaking 11k. I get 1620 (+/- 20 points) in Heaven with everything max and 4x AA. I assume you aren't getting 1685 with 8x AA cause that's very high. I compared with a RL friend in the same room as me (With a sandy at 4.5GHz) and his scores were only about 3% higher than mine.

I still think its hilarious how bad you guys think your cards are when I only score 1969 in Heaven 3.0 maxed at 8xAA with TWO 580 Lightnings clocked to 940MHz! I know the overclocking is a disappointment but come on, your scores are fantastic even at mediocre clocks...

*Sigh* I've explained this to you before but here I go again...

I'm not complaining about the performance of my card, i've never stated it was bad. I'm completely happy with the overall performance of my card. I've been stated overclocking was subpar and a huge disappointment. The only reason overclocking is bad is because NVIDIA is not allowing us voltage control on our $500 card. It's a slap in the face, and the BIOS are even locked down so you can't flash them to increase voltage. According to EVGA we won't get voltage control on reference because 2x 6-pin cannot handle it. However this card pulls 175W on it's default/max voltage, and 2x 6-pin allows for ~225W. Hardware limited overclocking is one thing, but they are purposely software limiting the card so enthusiast are required to double dip and go non-reference.

Remember, this is an enthusiast forum. When we spend $500 on a graphics card, we want voltage control. I buy hardware to be able to push it to the max, not a 10% overclock with stock voltage with temps still extremely cold. This is no different than buying a i7 2700k that would force you to use default voltage, how many people would buy a processor if the voltage was locked? Not many around here... This is an overclocking forum. Not a "I have a computer that can max all games on the market" forum.

well at least you dnot have a vacuum cleaner in your room on 24-7 i cant believe this... ANYTHING OVER 60% fan speed is unacpemtably loud and for me to eve THINK ABOUT STAYING UNDER 80c i need to run between 70-80% evga you have an angry customer I want another card nao i dont care if i only overclocks +1mhz gpu/mem but needs to be SILENT AND COOL...

I really suggest calling EVGA because your experience with sound/heat is the exact opposite of everyone else's around here. If there's one thing this card does extremely well, it's heat and sound. I'm 200% happy with the sound and heat this card puts out. It's incredibly better than my reference GTX 580.

I think it's loud and hot because it's well above the noise floor of my room's noise floor and runs @ 81C. Obviously, we're @ different ends of the db table. And yes, I'm comparing it to this like a complete 100% wacked out tool. tongue.gif Fortunately, it's from Fry's and will be going back as soon as the triple fan monsters become available.

Some reviews showed the card hitting 81-84C with the default auto fan, so maybe see what you get with default auto.

I'm seeing 8900 w/ a stock i7 2600K, can you post your 3Dmark link? Here's mine: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3018547
That's also w/ me cheating and turning High Performance mipmap and all the little optimizations on in NV's control panel.

My temps hit 81C w/ 61% fan. That's in a 550D w/ 2 in, 1 out, 1 on Ven X of Scythe SFLEX E's. I agree w/ you, it's a great reference cooler. I'm just so used to the massive cooler on that Arctic Cooling contraption. Also, I'm looking to go w/ 900RPM Noiseblockers soon.

I wish I had known this earlier. It's exactly the same thing Nvidia did with the voltage of my pair of GTX 590's.

The only fix for that is an unapproved vBIOS flash that could easily brick those cards, besides immediately killing the warranty.

I don't believe I'll be opening the boxes when they finally arrive. Just immediately put them on eBay.

I should've just waited on the MSI GTX680 Lightning Xtreme wi/ Twin Frozr 3, when &/or if.

NVIDIA, my cpu stands at a stable 47% OC on air, 24x7. You can at least match that with your gpu's. You know exactly how, so just do it!

We want racing cards, not these kiddy cards!
