[Official] NVIDIA GTX 680 Owner's Club - Page 62

My max stable-in-everything is +150mhz, which keeps the core clock at 1275mhz. Battlefield 3 looks AMAZING. It's so much smoother and no tearing at a Precision Framerate Target of 85fps than my 570 SLI was without V-Sync at 100fps (with tearing too).

Has anyone tried to play BF3 or Arkham City yet? BF3 won't let me "Deploy" when I click it, it minimizes the game headscratch.gif . I have to mouse-over the Deploy button and press the spacebar in order to play.

Also, Arkham City stutters at literally like 6fps from the second it is open, menus and everything. Barely any GPU usage at all.

Battlefield 3 works great for me. No issues at all.

I've got mine
132% power
Clock +160
Mem +375

This is all just BF3 testing. I've yet to fully stress. But Mem +500 caused me to crash, so I restarted and have been slowly moving up after every round or two.

Are there any cases which seriously isolate the Noise the PC makes? Something with Sound Padding? Or any cases general that are built to muzzle inner noise even without special padding?

The fans you use are important. I have 2 Scythe GT AP14s paired to the Kuhler 620 and the rest are all Bitfenix Spectre white LED models. For silence, I would recommend a Fractal Design Define R3 or Define Mini. My Antec 300 is quieter than the majority of users' rigs here, I assure you smile.gif

I would assume that the next release of GPU-Z should allow for ASIC readings.

As far as overclocking goes, a good place to start is +132%, +150 Core, +500 Memory. I have found that to be 100% stable on my EVGA model.

I only play 64 player servers. I've not seen a dip below 80 FPS on all max except shadows. They are at med (I dislike shadow effects, it's just me) And that setup has been working like a charm. I'll be doing more testing and overclocking as the week rolls on. I got the card back to my apartment at around 6pm local. So I've only had a few hours to test and game with it. I'll do a little log of my testing starting tomorrow for anyone interested. But it's clear, a SLI 470 setup cannot compete with a single 680 by any means, though they served me well for a couple years..haha

Yeah I'm stable in BF3 multiplayer at +160, closer to +170 it starts to crash. Arkham City kinda, but huge GPU usage drops and terrible stuttering. DX11 mode must still be messed up, or is everyone else running it fine?

Done & it worked:

"PCI-E 3.0 x16 @ x16 3.0"

According to that article all you have to do is a small registry edit to get your GTX 680 working at PCI-E 3.0 once again with current drivers. This is a huge deal for those of us with multiple GTX 680's. Being stuck at 8x PCI-E 2.0 is a no go.
You can test your PCI-E speed when the card is active (no idle it will go into power save mode) with GPU-Z:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2120/mirrors.php
Click on the little question mark next to the PCI-E speed line on the right to read the proper speed during rendering.
