As far as overclocking goes, a good place to start is +132%, +150 Core, +500 Memory. I have found that to be 100% stable on my EVGA model.

Thanks will give that a try. thumb.gif

Any voltage bump? My default is .987mV. Anyone have a safe voltage bump limit on these cards yet?

I came close to that with Power Boost +125% Clock +140 Memory +400 and scored 100 pts higher.

You can't change voltage on these cards and likely never will be able too.

.987v is your idle voltage, 1.175v will be your max load voltage... and about a 100 steps in-between those.

Can't just test in 1-2 games even with BF3. I settled on +120/+300. After you start playing a wide range of games you'll start to downclock more and more before it's stable in all of them. The card is annoying to get 100% stable if you want to get within ~5Mhz of your max overclock.

I think Skyrim with massive texture mods is the best memory test so far. Seen a couple people crashing in that with anything over +300 memory. I still see people on the forums claiming +500 to +700 memory stable, but I really still don't believe it. thumb.gif

BTW, +120 on my card is 1202MHz with boost. It varies on every card.. so just because someone is getting +160 doesn't mean their card is faster than someone getting +120.

I know, I was just talking about BF3 since it was brought up. Mine goes up to 1124mhz stock, so +160 for me is 1285mhz (I know 1124 + 160 = 1284, but with the +160 it says 1285mhz, so I don't know). Would have loved to hit 1300mhz but can't get it stable in anything at +175. But the 1285mhz is stable in 3dMark11, Metro, BF3, Arkham City, Just Cause 2, and Crysis. With the second card tomorrow though, I doubt it'll matter. 2 of 'em will play anything for a long time, but it still woulda been nice to overclock higher. If no updates make any progress then I'll probably go non-ref when the prices come down a little.

I can't get anything over 1202MHz stable (thats WITH boost). Still debating on exchanging because my results are so subpar. Hopefully your 2nd card isn't like this because it will bring down your entire SLI config. The other guy on SLI had to go to +120/+300 for it to be stable, so I don't think "barely" reaching 1200MHz is all that uncommon with these.

My RL friend's max stable is 1230. So you have a really good card it seems.

anyone??? i guess you all area happy running your auto fan speed which ends up at 7something% guranteed...
Almost maxed out or manual about 75% fan speed cause for me thats what i need to keep the card cool..

65% stayed 68c for most of the run then hit 69c (staring at osd 1097mhz)
BUT AS SOON AS IT HIT 70c itdownclocks from 1097@1.175 to 1084@1.162

I dont care if i get a 3000mhz o.ci just want piece and quiet which apparantly I cannot achieve with this card as anything over 55% is starting to get louder then my case fans 60% is ok up to 67% which starts to whoosh after that its game over vacuum clearner!!

If you wanted quiet you should watercool. Or get a less powerful card. Less power = less heat = less need for a powerful/loud fan. This thing is supposed to be significantly quieter than the reference 580 fans.
