I can't imagine the 680 being louder than a 570!

@Retell - EVGA is giving free bracket to owners. Improves air flow/cooling

I hope I can get a 2nd one once the 2nd gtx680 arrives from them in a couple of days. I'm surprised they haven't ran out.

I'm so much more quiter than my GTX 580, which I thought was quiet to begin with.

What are your idle temps? Did you set up manual fan settings?

I'm idle at 33C-32C. You may have something wrong with your card like perhaps improperly applied TIM.

Even at 70% I find fan noise is better by far.

The reference gtx 680 is quieter and cooler than the reference gtx465,470,480,570,580, hd6950,6970,7950, and 7970 wink.gif

I still hate turbine coolers, though.

So your telling me you guys have been running over 70% fan speed and it's ''nice and quiet" you have to be kidding..
STOCK OR OVERCLOCKED 65% fan & temps are in the 70s (downclocking) and fan above 70% is REALLY LOUD!!!

Then you have something very wrong on your computer case cooling or your room temperature is way too high.

Even when overclocked to 1285MHz on the Core and +500MHz on the Memory with a fan speed of 65% it does not reach above 62ºC, and that is quiet enough to me. thumb.gif

80% GTX 680 FAN

Of course 80% is way too loud, but you shouldn't need running it above 65% at all...

You have something wrong here, I don't need above 65% fan speed and that keeps it below 62ºC at all times.
