You have something wrong here, I don't need above 65% fan speed and that keeps it below 62ºC at all times.

^^ exactly least you realize some is wrong. I can take a video of it at 65% which is louder then my case fans but not bad.. If only with that fan speed I could maintain those temps... im in the 70s

As others have said, you may have gotten a bad card. I would RMA it as everyone else (myself included) agrees it is a VERY quiet card even under ~100% usage. I see temps under 80C and fan speed at 40% (in Skyrim and Crysis 2).

Good card and cooler, unlike batch(?).

It is here.....

450

We'll see tonight how much the 970 bottlenecks it at stock vs. OC

A Phenom II X4 (any) at 4GHz makes a big bottleneck even for an HD6970 or GTX580, imagine a GTX680... frown.gif

You're not going to see the real performance of that beast unless you move to an i5 2500k. rolleyes.gif

I have no doubt it'll bottleneck, just curious to see how much compared to the other benchmarks that have been posted.

This may be just to push I need to go Intel, hehe. wink.gif

Don't think Unigine Heaven 3.0 is affected by CPU at all, but for reference I get 46fps average at 1920x1080 all maxed (AAx8, AFx16, Tesselation Extreme... etc Obviously 3D OFF).

On games though you'll probably get a serious bottleneck, let alone Battlefield 3 Multiplayer where bottleneck will be huge.

I got my EVGA GTX 680 in the mail on Monday. I still haven't decided whether to keep it or not. I'd like one of those 4 GB versions too for Skyrim, since I was hitting 2GB+ with my 356 mods before I optimized it. Because of my 800D, I'll have to get a waterblock for it. Do I wait or do I just play? Decisions decisions.....

I'll decide soon and once I get my card out to install this weekend, I'll take a picture so I can become a member of the group!

Also I registered my card earlier today and the webpage they were out of stock in US/Canada for the Free High-Flow brackets afterwards. Sorry guys, it looks like they are all out rolleyes.gif

In terms of warranties, I realized that these cards only have 3 yrs now. Did anyone opt for the 5 years or higher?
