I would still like to know other temps people are getting with their fan settings if they dont mind please, thanks in advance!

Yeah fan noise is to each his own.

I thought my 580 was quite idle and fairly ok even when full throttle in games. I think the reason people say the GTX 680 is quieter is because it runs cooler and thus the fans don't have to ramp up as high even if custom fan settings are exactly the same from previous 580. So end result it's quieter.

To give you an idea here are some noise benchmarks from various tech sites.

Tweak Town Source to view better. This was one of the better graphs including many cards.

I've got one,

920 @ 4.24Ghz with a GTX680 SLI set-up.

Game wise, at 1920x1200 it's fantastic!! The Witcher 2 with Max settings and Ubersampling on - running at 50 - 100fps is amzing biggrin.gif

In 3DMark 11 and 1080p benching, however, I feel quite restricted - the CPU can't keep up with the 2 680's

I'm currently pulling a max score of P15922 but feel with a SB 2600k @ 5ghz I could be reaching P19000 or so

If your thinking about a 680 - I can only recommend them.

In the mean time, I'll be waiting for my Ivy bridge and other 2 monitors smile.gif

Got my 680 yesterdaty, and installed.

First thing I did? Ran Heaven 3.0 of course!

Altho, my bench seems kinda low for a 680.

1157, at 1080p everything maxed.

my SLI 560's did a 1295 with the same settings.

Did I really just downgrade or is something wrong? I could have sworn people were getting over 1300 on heaven with a 680.
