Thats some nice work there but i'm going to try to get a bit higher of an overclock with my lightnings and see if i can't top the sli 680 scores in all those benches!

Well I finally received my card and my god am I impressed. Ran the DX11 UNIGINE bench @ 1080p, extreme tess, 16x AF, 8X AA, pretty much max everything, and the cooler is so quiet! Temperature never went above 75 @ 58% speed on stock settings. This is the sexiest piece of tech that I have ever picked up biggrin.gif

I sure hope you do, Lightnings should be a blast to OC. On the other hand, my Asus 7970 refused to go over 1110Mhz, no matter how much voltage I tried to feed it. It did 1110 on stock 1.174mv though, but refused to go any higher.

Last OC

+132% Power
+150 Mhz core clock (=1228 Mhz)
+300 Mhz Mem clock (6610 Mhz)

450

After 2 hours playing BF3 at ultra settings @1080P
I can say the OC is pretty stable.

It's day and night compared to the 5970 !!!
I wasn't able to put any MSAA + HBAO with it ..
Microstutter was all over the place

With the GTX 680 the game isn't the same.
I feel like my computer is breathing !

So far I'm happy with it

That is kind of wierd. What could you raise the voltage to? And you didn't even get 10mhz at the max voltage?

And whats the ACSI(spelling?)-rating in GPU-Z? just outta curiosity

ASIC was 73.something %. I tried small bumps up to 1.2v i think - there was no difference, it would go to 1150, but still would not be game stable. It was artifacting, especially in Heaven, at anything more than 1110. The weirdest thing was the chip wasn't actually hot, the temps would hover around 62C. And it would still artifact. I just decided I got the dud that time.

To those crying about 70c. The review cards got way over 70, sometimes near 90 and I really dont see why you should be bothered with it so much. If it doesnt float your boat, go get an Accelero in May, or you shouldve waited and got a non ref cooled card.

And our cards could last for years at 80c gaming without issuesb efore, so I dont see why our new shouldnt.

Is it true you can't run the fan lower than 30% in 2D mode? Has anyone tried to go lower than 30% with MSI Afterburner? I've read the fan isn't exactly silent at 30%, so I'm curious about this. Thanks smile.gif

Edit: For anyone that says 30% is quiet enough lol, my intake fan (Thermalright TY-140) and cooler fan (Scythe Slipstream PWM) both run 300-500 RPM and are sonically invisible in 2D. Same goes for my current gpu, so I'm hoping for similar low DB noise.

30% is 1050rpm for me. I don't know I find it to be very quiet. Most cards have a default minimum in afterburner.

Interesting. So I found out our voltage is dynamic so it will increase as the GPU clock does, max is 1175mV. If your GPU boost is not going to 1175mV under 3D than you can set a manual override via EVGA Precision X.

So there is a limit that keeps us from frying the card but it's not something that we have to preset rather based on its needs.
