Make sure to tell there support staff that with the release of the GTX 680 when the card reaching temps of over 65c it begins to auto downclock, so temps of 70c well having increase fan speeds is causing games to become unplayable.

But well you wait, just be more aggressive on the fan curve and raise speed to 75% or so.

Wait it's more like around 70°C the card is beginning to underclock itself

It's card dependant. Folks early in the thread showed 65, I'm around 68, your around 70. I doubt there is a hardline currently.

Loooooooooooooooool. These cards downclock at around 70c? REALLY?

Woah, I think ima return the card and never buy a new GPU ever again. Cause ref coolers are WAY too noisy to keep temp below 65..

If anyone can beat this score with 2x 680's on air, i will officially buy 2x 680's. And that is a promise!

What is the program you are using which has all your game shortcuts uptop?

Mine under clocks 10-30Mhz as soon as it hits 70C in Heaven.

So these cards dont like 70c? They're doing it wrong.

With my (Returned) Sapphire HD7950 OC (dualfan) I reached a maximum of 55c during gameplay. However, I imagine with a Ref cooler, you'd hit 70+ while its also really loud since you gotta force the fanspeed up.. And plenty of reviews show these cards (incl the AMD ref equivalents) reach well over 70 during gaming. How come downclocking hasnt been mentioned in any review?

614
550

My 5850 775/1100 with ref cooler gets around 70c during gaming and thats wtih fan reaching ~40% and thats tolerable in terms of noise. ANy higher and its a turbine engine.

I'm just dumbfounded at how quiet this card is. I remember going from a GTX 470 to a 570 and being amazed at the quieter cooler. But this thing is worlds better. Kudos Nvidia.

Going to do a couple of 3D runs tomorrow and compare it to my version of EVGA's 'High-Flow Bracket'.

Now it's like a light gust of wind.
