Mafia 2 can be very demanding maxed out, especially at 1440p. Also your stock CPU is probably holding it back a little. In the Nvidia control panel, if you haven't adjusted any of the settings and it's at default, then auto select for Physx is what it should show. But that just means it will use the video card.

I am about to start my build and I had some questions about the best place to put my graphics cards.

Coolermaster HAF X
Phanteks CPU Cooler
Asus P8z77-v deluxe

2 GTX680 Direct CU II TOP

These are triple slot cards and I am wondering if they will be okay in the first two PCI x16 slots. I know there is another slot on the bottom but
was not sure it would work correctly.

My main concern is the cooling if these two cards are so close together. I do have the side fan and a couple options for cooling with a 120 fan VGA cooler.

Would love to hear from someone that has a similar setup. smile.gif

Dont get The Top version get the OC version and overclock it yourself there have been some problems with the Top version
Also 2 Asus GTX 680 CU II´s will take more less all the space on the motherboard i would take a look a the MSI GTX 680 lightning for SLI as they take up less space

What sort of problem are you taling about. I had the TOP 680 it performed great. It's was used in my 3dmark 11 score for a gtx 680 in my Sig.

I think you're confused and remembering about the 670 DCii top that wasn't stable at TOP clocks out of the box.

I still say that i triple slot card on that board is not a good idea a dual slot card like the MSI GTX 680 Lightning would be better

I was able to get these for same price as GTC670's so I already bought them.

So I am looking for the best way to put them in the HAF X case and keep them cool.

Also wanted to confirm with my mobo (asus p8z77-v deluxe that I only have the option
to put them in the first two PCIx16 slots.

I probably should have done more research before I got the 2nd card but it was too good a deal to pass up.

I have the stock fans, plus i bought another 200mm for the 2nd top exhaust, another 120mm for the vga duct and an 80mm for the vga holder.

I have replaced all my stock fans with Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans they are much better fans but they do make a bit more nosie the way around that is to buy a fan controller. When i am not playing any games then are on min and they are very silent when i do play games i max them out and they move a hell of a lot more air then the stock fans but with a bit more nosie but they are not very loud i say screw the stock fans they are crap compared to the Bitfenix Spectre Pro´s
