So I began to overclock the baby.

So far
+132% power
+125 Mhz base clock
+300 Mhz Mem clock

I tried +150/+500 but that's wierd, FPS are lower than a stock ....
It's like the core is throttling ....
Any advice here ?

If it's hitting the power cap of 132% then no, nothing you can do. If it's because of going over 70C, which is the exact temp where mine starts downclocking, then you just have to keep the card below 70C to prevent downclocking. Again if you're hitting the power limit of 132% then there's nothing to be done right now. Mine's the same way, I sometimes get lower 3dMark11 scores with 1310mhz than I do at 1280mhz because of the power limit being reached in the first graphics test and downclocking. The other 3 graphics tests don't come close to 132%, so I'd be getting great scores if that damn first graphics test didn't max out power consumption either mad.gif

I see
I tried the following :

+132%
+150 Mhz base clock
+300 Mhz memory clock

This works like a charm : +14% FPS average

I'll let that as it is and play games (best way to check for stability)

Wow not sure what to do to fix that. So it's not enabling you to download the latest driver from Nvidia? Did you come from AMD drivers?

I've got to do some learning on the card OC'ing too. I'm not sure I even have my Nvidia Control Panel settings set properly. When I get home after work tonight will be fiddling around some more. I'd like to find a modest OC, like to set it and forget it 24/7 type person.

The OC'ing is very different than the 580.

How is your fan setup? which fans are pushing and which fans are pulling?

How much is 70f in celcius? Got me worried. Its usually ~20c in my room.

But if its less than I had with my 7950 then I guess its alight.

What needs to happen is they offer me an Advanced RMA sending me a card with a pre-paid label to send my old one back my temps are ridiculous im like the only one aside from that one guy that got a card that was DOA everyone else says they dont eed more then 65% fan speed to keep temps under 70ish try adding another 10-20% fan speed to that and im still in the 70s... LOL @ evga rep telling me cards are rated for 98c ughh yea i dont need a mini heater esp since its only my card or no one else is complaining so frustrating..
