Suicide cords?

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with "Suicide Cords", otherwise known as Male/Male or "Widowmakers". I was told that most of the dangers can be avoided by using enough tape to prevent them from coming loose.

Are these fairly common in the PSU world? What would happen if one of these were hook to a PSU?

I can search for it. But they're basically a cord with two male outputs rather than one.
They must be custom built and aren't sold in stores.

I think he means by "suicide cord" is say the power's out, and you have a generator. So you plug the power out of the generator into your house (into a electrical socket or something) to power your entire house on a generator.

If built and used correctly they are completely harmless to both user and equipment. They are hard to find for sale so most of the time you are forced to make your own, and a lot of people do not know how and end up using wrong materials or build it wrong. As for how you would use it with a PSU I am confused.
