I used my G500 extensively for BC2, BF2 and the CoD: MW franchise. The extra thumb button came in handy for various load outs and the DPI switching is in a great spot and comes in handy when using a vehicle or it's weapon mounts. The mouse is a bit heavy but it didn't affect me as much for fast swipes or zeroing in on my target. I actually took advantage of the forward position of the sensor by only lifting up the front end of the mouse instead of lifting up the whole thing and repositioning it. The tuning software is nice and, to me, acceleration is not too noticeable on a variety of mats (Though some say to avoid using cloth for mice with sensors like the G500).

I had a Deathadder 1800DPI for BF2, CoD and MW 1 + 2 and Day of Defeat. It's a great tracking mouse regardless of surface and is lightweight. The buttons were a bit too light for my tastes but were good for those semi-auto weapons. I remember being accused of cheating when using the mouse for MW. It was a good mouse but it died on me and when I picked up the updated models (3500DPI) there were some odd clicking issues.

It's a toss between the two for comfort (for me). Some days I preferred the wider body of the Deathadder for relaxed hand positioning while gaming, and the G500 when I wanted something a bit narrower for more of a claw hybrid control.

That said, a G400 is another option (You mentioned deathadder which only has 2 side buttons so I'd figure to toss in another logitech).

i recently bought a G400 as my Razer Diamondback 3G gave up on me. for the money the G400 is a good mouse, although it works better with the palm grip as the thumb grove down the right hand side could get in the way if you like the claw style grip.

cat.

EC1, DA or G400. Altough i prefer the EC1 out of these three, mostly because of its Glides and weight, makes it much more easier to take down moving targets, especially on maps like metro or seine.

My guess will be the EC1 eVo thats coming out in april really, the shape of the ec1 the sensor from the AM

I think the DeathAdder v1 -> G400 -> DeathAdder V2 would be the best choices. I don't really recommend the xai, as i have heard lots of people have complaints with the sensor/drivers/firmwares.

I think the G400 (newer model) would be the best bet, since a V1 deathadder would be much more to come across, and logitech has AMAZING warranties. When I used to have my mx518, they would send me replacements, with no issue or problem at all. Plus I think Logitech carry a 2 year warranty (might be 3, but i can't say for sure). Anyhow, I think dealing with logitech is much better than the horror stories I have heard some people talk about when dealing with razer.

How can i know if i'm getting the newer version of the G400 ?

Thanks everyone for your help =)
