Upgrading Card(s) Will a 680 Run Good on My System?

Current Rig:

Intel i5 2400 @ 3.8
Gigabye Z68A-D3H-B3
16GB Kingston Hyper X Blu 1333
x2 SLi EVGA GTX 550 TI FPB OC'd
XFX 750Pro 750w PSU

Was going to upgrade to a 680, and possibly a 680 Sli in the future. Would I be able to run 2 680s on my PSU? And would a single 680 bottleneck my current CPU?

I could see a potential bottleneck with that processor. Honestly, if you're going to drop that kind of cash on those GPUs maybe consider snagging a 2500K or something.

Regarding the PSU question, I'm not too sure if it'll handle it. Yeah, 750w would be plenty for an SLI setup, but I'm not sure if that PSU could take the cards + processor under load.

Ya I figured as much. My next upgrade might be a CPU first the video card. This setup is running good for now. Definately will be looking into a 2500k or better. Then card and PSU/sli.

Definitely. Who knows, it may work and you'll only end up with a GPU.. wink.gif

Goodluck man, and enjoy whatever you decide to get. thumb.gif
