Help me out here guys! Which Blu-Ray should I get?

I am not in a buyer's dilemna frown.gif

Well, I have 2 options.

1)
Get Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon - Two Disc Edition (Bluray and DVD)
+
Avatar- Two Disc Edition (Bluray and DVD)

OR

2)
Get Planet Earth the Complete Series on Bluray

I can get either option at about the same price (Planet Earth being slightly more expensive)

I have no idea which to get tbh :/
I reckon Planet Earth will have more "replay value", but I also want this to serve as a tech demo too. Plus, I haven't watched Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, and have no idea if it is worth picking up for Blu-ray.

Transformers III was terrible, Avatar was overrated, although visually stunning.

I'd say Planet Earth hands down.

Alright... I have decided, Planet Earth it is.

This video helped my decision quite a bit:

And I have decided to pay a bit more and get the 6 disc version, with the Music Only Viewing Option apparently.

^^^ there really is some amazing camera shots in Planet Earth!

Are blu-ray drives worth the investment? I've heard the software is a bit of a mess about to get working. I do really fancy getting one, I love high definition thumb.gif

Yes. Definitely tbh. Though, I am pretty sure Blu-ray players will drop in price sooner or later. You can get pure Blu-ray readers since writers are more expensive, and I doubt anyone will be writing Blu-ray discs occasionally.

You know how you watch DVDs and you just find it a bit too pixelated and the sound lacks that oomph? Well, with Blu-ray, you can see every single detail, every strand of hair, grain of sand, it's like the way the director of the film wants you to watch his films. My first Blu-ray was the Final Fantasy: Advent Children : Complete Edition. I hav watched the DVD version several times, and just love it to death, being the most entertaining CGI film to date in my book. and the Blu-ray just blew me away. The sound is crazy good, the picture quality is mind blowing and everything is just awesome.

You can try getting yourself a blu-ray player, a PS3 is a good Blu-ray player. Then, get Planet Earth or Avatar(the go-to Tech Demo apparently), tho I also highly recommend Inception. Quality movie all around with awesome visuals and crazy good sound. Your subwoofer will go insane.
