Noctua NH-D14 with 2600k @ stock

Thread Starter
Hi everyone!

I recently got a NH-D14 for my 2600k but I see that the temp goes up to 52C even at stock speeds, is it normal? Maybe I used to much thermal paste? The screws are well screwed for sure and the airflow in my case is pretty good.

Also I have a GTX 480 fermi @ stock too, does a stock 2600k bottleneck that card or not?

Thank you guys smile.gif

52C load is like nothing.

A i7 2600k won't bottleneck any card on the market after being overclocked.

If you think you have put to much thermal paste, check but those temps are decent.
If your really annoyed with then temp ramp up the fan speeds

Seems a bit hot.

What is your ambient temp?
Maybe you used to much/not enough TIM.
Maybe it's not seated properly.

I'm talking about idle/simple things like web browsing and such tongue.gif but even at full load 52C seems a bit much. My 955BE with Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO runs at 52C at full load with an ambient temp of 20C

yes but don't amd's run a tad bit cooler? I know with intel we had a policy to stay under 80c (self implemented). while with amd you couldn't pass what 70c? so you have to factor that in.

I am just saying if you are running stock 52c is nothing to worry about. for a 2600k.
Small wonder.

Actually I run at 4GHz @ 1.472v to get those temps and it's with my fans at the lowest settings. If I turn the fans up then my temps drop down to around 46-48C in the same ambient temp. I'm not sure if Deneb chips run cooler than SB, someone else will have to answer that tongue.gif and I do agree 52C is nothing to worry about on a 2600K at stock speeds if it's at full load, but it is nice to know that your after market cooler is working efficiently tongue.gif
