Ah... well, I'd call metro the anomaly, actually, since in everything else it outperforms the competition by a nice margin. Metro may have been running PhysX on the GPU too which would make it a worse matchup for the GTX 680.

Sorry, I did mean Metro 2033 and corrected it above.

I feel like I'm expected to be utterly blown away by this card. It is nice, bringing some impressive performance gains, which is just what we expected and is hardly anything to be surprised by.

Bf3 AVerage FPS for 1600 P

680 42.6
7970 39.1

Yes, It's being thrashed totaly, Next please.

Batman AC, an nvidia favoured game

GTX 680 60.6 Average at 1600p
7970 54.6 average at 1600P

I'd link more but the other images won't display on my end.

And lastly, Multi display gaming is starting to get quite popular, we have two populated clubs on OCN, and if it didn't have any value in the real market( I dare say we are probably 5-10%) then manufactorers and vendors wouldn't be spending R&D time on the features required to drive 3 displays or more.

Yes let's use one resolution and one game to decide that... kookoo.gif EDIT: Looks like you added more after I said that, let's link the 2 smallest gap graphs on there. rolleyes.gif

Not everyone runs 1600p., and consider the power consumption and temps on this card (vs the 7970) it is still destroying it on those tests. rolleyes.gif

It seems to smoke the 7970 at 1080p and only edges it at 1600p. It's cheaper and uses less power, great card Nvidia!

This is why I wish ALL reviews would throw in a summary chart with the averages of the numbers. Otherwise, we get people who like to base an argument around specific benchmarks trying to prove one card's worth over another, again using only half the data to form the full conclusion.

Virtually no 24/7 stable oc's from retail cards to 1300mhz on the Radeon 7970 anyway... bad comparison. And that's with higher volts and loud fan speeds.

The GTX 680 on stock volts by the way is already being shown to go to 1250mhz+ with auto fan running at whisper-quiet levels, per one review's info.

You really can't compare oc-to-oc though since it varies so much for people.

You're doing that though by using one game on one test to claim that the rest of the ones aren't meaningful?
