Quite true. Intel has decided to try to beat AMD at their strong points - Performance per Watt and pricing. The new C2D chips are more power efficient (I think I read somewhere that Barcelona is 95W - anyone confirm or refute this?) and they are relatively inexpensive. The Conroe-L chips are going to be pretty cheap. AMD is becoming more of a boutique chip maker tayloring their chips for extreme gaming (the 4x4 platform) and multiprocessor systems with their use of their Direct Connect and upcoming support for coprocessors. This stuff will do little on the general consumer market. I hope AMD still has some kind of ace up its sleeve that we haven't heard about yet.
