See in your Rig you have 680's... u still waiting for them or do you have them

Right, you don't have any. Personally, I think Tahiti can easily match the 1056MHz of the 680.

It's standard industry practice, and a factual conclusion drawn from it.

According to the TT review, on the power consumption slide, the HD 7970 at stock uses as much as 70-watts less power compared to the GTX 680 while under load. For a card with 190-watt TDP, that's a lot of power overage.

You guys remember how I said Nvidia's TDP numbers were too good to be true at that performance level? Well guess who was right... this guy. thumb.gif

Well considering we have two other websites claiming otherwise, I wouldn't count your chickens yet.

Exactly, Mkiibride, not to mention the tweaktown review was not under nda, and used older drivers. Their testing, while valuable info, could easily be flawed, especially in light of other reviews showing lower power consumption. He probably shouldn't count his potential chicken yet, indeed....

Let me guess.. the drivers are unoptimized, right?

The GTX 680 is a mid-range solution that has been clocked to the moon and back. The price of this? Power consumption. It looks like Kepler isn't the miracle you guys thought it was. Nvidia just sent the clocks through the roof on their mid-range solution.

Don't get me wrong. The performance is crazy good... but then again, the HD 7970 can be clocked extremely high too, and it will just barely reach that level of power usage. I think some of you guys got punked by nvidia... again.
