As far as a price drop on the 7 series unless AMD is planning to hold out and decides their advantages are worth keeping their price premium (and obviously are stills elling enough cards) I would expect to see at least a 50 dollar price drop pretty soon.

Based on the reviews today, I would say that as soon as the GTX 680 stocks aren't selling out like hotcakes, AMD's prices will fall. We'll probably see a price drop within the next couple of weeks, maybe earlier.

Unless your 7970 can only do stock @ 925, i see no reasons why you should be crying headscratch.gif? Unless my sarcasm detection is broken.

It seems both camps are content with releasing overpriced graphics cards. Not much improvement at all from both sides. frown.gif Hopefully the next manufacturing process will fair better next time.

I'd only be slightly mad if i bought a 7970 in the past week seeing as its a damn good card, overclocks well and getting a 680 in the coming weeks will be sold out and you'd be pretty lucky to get one. I'd shed maybe half a tear my good sir and go on with your day biggrin.gif.

The 6970 is now a budget card...!!   (*laughing to myself*)

AMD is going to have to respond with price cuts, easily $59 to stay competitive. As of right now there is no reason to touch the 7970, as I can see it.

My criteria was: between AMD's HD7970 & whatever nVidia would bring... was what played BF3 better w/consistent rates. Minimums are more important to me, than peak. I like the fact that nVidia engineered their part as a thermal unit/base. Put a loop on one and it will constantly use just enough energy, thus efficient.

Have all-around efficiency is the key to me. I cannot wait to see what non-reference boards do...

$499 = win
