while I otherwise agree, there are plenty of slower paced gaems, particularly single player ones, where I find it ok to have vsync on and the added motion quality can be nice

that being said I also run 120Hz and it can be a nightmare to try and get vsync working with, at least until now, but either way vsync is less necessary for me and thus I don't really care too much

Installed fine, GPU-Z reports SLI enabled as well as NVIDIA control panel but no games or benches are using both cards. Back to 296.10's for now.

I tried this adaptive vsync in Dirt2 and it eliminated those occasional micro sec hickups.. But now i see like micro screen tearing/image flash-bliping and t it can look just as bad, kinda like epileptic micro sec tear flash lol biggrin.gif but at least its smooth.

ingame vsync on and in Dirt2 profile adaptive vsync.

hmm hard choice, either occasional micro stutter or tear blip flashes... Ok at least its not so frequent like vsync only.

I tried it in AlanWake but i got tearing no matter what, i think it was because i disabled ingame vsync and then forced adaptive in AlanWake profile.. Looks like you have to use ingame vsync enabled and then force in profile adaptive.

Adaptive (half-refresh) caps your framerate to 30fps (60hz display) and then if you drop below 30fps it disables vsync.

btw; if you have 60fps + and you're sure it doesnt drop with vsync enabled then i doubt it will help, best to force triplebuffer and 1 frame to render ahead.. Or give it a try anyway but use ingame enabled and in driver profile 1 frame to render ahead and adaptive vsync.

As for changing INF,

you can just right-click on nvidia installer and then extract to, open display.driver folder and change inf., but you must chose proper inf, International driver needs INT inf, USA US inf.

I made them for both, i used desktop 296.10 gpu strings so if your gpu worked with 296.10 it will with these too. smile.gif

To my understanding, you just force adaptive vsync on and turn in game vsync off?
