Not really, it has no purpose...

Adaptive V-sync enables V-sync to stop tearing and disables it when performance drops off and then puts it back on when performance improves.

As opposed to normal V-sync doing the exact same thing?

I force V-sync and it stops tearing, performance drops and I get tearing.... performance goes back up and hit's the V-sync again...

Nvidia have put a marketing ploy on V-sync and people are buying into it...

Adative V-sync

- Crysis is V-sync'd and capped at 60fps and I'm getting no tearing
- Performance drops, adaptive V-sync disables and I get tearing
- Performance improves and V-sync gets enabled again and I get capped at 60fps

Normal V-sync

- Crysis is V-sync'd and capped at 60fps and I'm getting no tearing
- Performance drops and frame rate drops below the 60fps V-sync cap and I get tearing
- Performance improves and hit's V-sync again and I get capped at 60fps

Again where is the difference? And google Adaptive V-sync and you'll see people actually complaining that it CAUSES tearing...

When i go under 60 with vsync on, i get stuttering. Now if i go below 60, i still get smooth gameplay with the addition of very very very minimal tearing. It works!

So I just tried these.

A lot of people are saying that they get more consistent GPU usage in BF3. I wonder if they are talking about the usage between each card in SLI because they do seem to sync up each card pretty well. Instead of the 62/58% for example, it's 60/60 or 60/61 most of the time.

My overall performance seems to be about the same, frame rates are still where they used to be with 295.xx. I really doubt there is much of a frame rate increase in BF3 (at least for the 470's) unless the SLI consistency gains us a minute percent. Though these are good drivers, so far they have been nice and stable. *knock on wood*

I had to revert back to 296.10 because i was getting unreadable blurry text on MSN Messenger and some webpages....Rolling back to 296.10 has resolved it frown.gif Not sure whats wrong with the new one! I'll just wait for the offical release.

Other than that, performance was identical in 296.10 and these new drivers! Its just a shame about the blurry unreadable text!

Alright just installed the drivers. Works fluid in Skyrim. I go from 20 fps to 31(I have lots of texture mods) from previous recent driver on heavy gameplay action and get a good 50fps on idle settling locations. On gpu-z my usage is not maxed out anymore. A good improvement for me.smile.gif But when you have lots of open tabs at least in Chrome, it messes up and force closes, I had about 15 tabs mixed with forums and YouTube videos.mad.gif Could of just been a glitch of course from windows or other software running in the background. :confused:Using one 580gtx 1.5.

Try to disable hardware acceleration from Chrome. Same thing applies to Firefox.
