Maybe I'm wrong, and its job is to find something on a page... you know, Find... that things that happens when you press Ctrl-F in almost any program. Also built into Chrome.

The "Omnibar" and Ctrl+F do not provide the same functionality when trying to highlight different terms and jump to each one easily and separately.

This feature request probably best describes it.

http://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/xcHhBecw6V0

Just because someone uses a browser in a way that you don't or haven't had the need to yet doesn't mean other people don't seek that functionality and thus renders your God of a browser, or so you seem to think, flawed.

I know you probably didn't direct that at me, but I wasn't at all claiming absolute superiority. IMO, yes, Chrome is the best browser, but everyone will have an opinion and I don't hate on you for that. I've just been pointing out to everyone that posts something like "Lul Chrome still doesn't have ABP or X extension" that it does (or has an alternative) and has had for a long time now.

Ctrl+F is jokingly easy and in my opinion, looking through your recent search terms to find and click on the one you want to look for takes longer than simply typing it. When people watch me search for something online for them they ask me how the hell I memorize so many keyboard shortcuts and use them so fast.

Yeah, I almost edited my post to point out that it wasn't directed at you. It was more of a general response to much of the Chrome user-base as a whole, and then of course there's the "just use Ctrl+F" response, which I directly address in my OP. rolleyes.gif

Just pointing out that the functionality (normal Find) isn't needed in an extension because its already built into the browser. Saying "You don't have this extension" when its built in is kinda silly.

It was, obviously, too quick an overview on my part that I missed multi-search, which is pretty cool, but if there's a request out, there is probably a dev trying to make it work. And, frankly, if i ever find myself needing that, I'll duplicate the page a few times and use multiple Find instances. If I need to see them all, I'll lay them out on multiple monitors.

Quite a lot of the "Chrome doesn't have this!" accusations are from people who honestly don't look, or don't have the experience with Chrome to know where to look. Such as a few of the things I and others have pointed out in this thread already.

The feature request is almost 3 years old. Something tells me integrating a feature into their browser that has already existed for years in their toolbar wouldn't take mountains of effort and years to accomplish.

If I was holding my breath, I'm pretty sure I would be dead by now.

"But taken together, all versions of Internet Explorer are still ahead of Google's sleek Chrome browser."
Real title: A one point during the weekend chrome was being used by more people than the most popular version of internet explorer.

I'll start looking into not recording history, but honestly, if you need to bookmark a search page, something is wrong... but you can search by the URL of the bookmark itself.
