Want to push my card.. but cant?

ok here's my dillema, my monitor supports up to 1280x1024 but only at 60hz, which is really crusty in CS:S, so ive been running 1024x768 @ 85hz. In alot of games, especially CS:S i gotta set higher resolutions to push my card, and pretty much use what i payed $300 for what its worth (bought my 7900 GT in stores )

Is there any way to get a higher refresh rate or get like 1280x960or720 to work without being distorted and actually fitting my screen?

Well you can force certain resolutions that your screen is not specified to operate at but may work however some resolutions will not fit certain sized screens im afraid.
