I just had a side thought about something mentioned in that article. I notice they mention that AMD will not be releasing "expected" benchmarks until later on. First of all does any company care about benchmarks? Secondly if they wished to know what benchmarks to expect they should send some of those bad boys this way and we will let them know what they can expect in all situations with them lol.

Here's another article to add to the plethora of info about Barcelona.

Seems like from all of the info I'm reading, Barcelona will be great for MP systems but won't be as strong as a competitor in the single processor systems.

Of course they do! Benchmarks can tell a company if there ahead of the game or behind the game. Sheesh without benchmarks, few people would beable to tell the preformance difference between C2D and AM2. If your loosing in the benchmark race, it's time to revamp, and come out with somthing stronger, and cut your prices in the mean time. Loosing benchmarks can mean the difference between a big year, and a sub par year.

Are you on crack?!?!?! lol. That's the most important part of a realease. Ford makes a car...they test it out, and see how fast it'll go, and they put it on a dynomometer...then they advertise it as having 460HP and being able to pull .95G on a skidpad...

Same thing with a computer....if it can complete calculations 2x the speed of their old CPU, they're doing something right..if not....back to the drawing board, and they test again.
