[HWBOT] GTX 680 takes record @ 1900 Mhz - Page 3

I must say from last series with new 28nm fab this was a very nice leap of performance IMO. Both 7970 and 680 should make both camps very happy. thumb.gif I'm glad Nvidia was able to respond with something comparable. I was getting worried with all the rumors floating around it wasn't going to turn out pretty. biggrin.gif *Arizonian wipes sweat off forehead and grins ear to ear*

It seems he's been playing around with a couple of cards. Hard to tell which one he actually used though since we haven't seen a picture of the bench setup he used.

No, stock modded for more volts, ocp bypass, etc. however with the lightning and dc2 modding is not required these days.

Not to be overly critical, but you would think he would use a 3960X instead of a 3930k...considering he would probably get like .1 higher physics score for a few extra points with the higher cache.

I mean if you are gonna go this crazy with overclocking why wouldn't you use the best of the best?

Shrugs, I dunno but it's not like he's a rockstar, throw a few benjamins at a 3960K. But damn, that was a short time to the world record if you ask me. biggrin.gif

Enjoy your extra 30 3dmarks.

Nothing like LN2 to show everyone that these cards really are just about the same thing when OC'd.

well I reckon this generation is gonna be epic for the ln2 crowd!!! both cards clock amazingly!!

I reckon overclocking is gonna move back to being skill based rather than who just got the best gpu's (as it was imo)

so when can I pick up one of these bad boys...?
