Nice buddy, those do look fun to play with. I was considering the same purchase but I'm probably going with a 680 instead. BTW when did you move to TX?

Would you reccomend to 7850 twin forz's over a new 7970/680 I couldn' t stretch the budget to two 7870's but I two 7850's are the same price as 1 7970 or 680 with more performance biggrin.gif . How is crossfire at this point? Buggy? Do alot of games support it at this stage.

I had a little trouble with crossfire at the start but that is fixed. Divers for them are buggy right now but that will get better. The games I play BF3, DIRT2 and 3, Black ops RE5 Run fine with crossfire. Bf3 is what I am playing the most atm and it is running really nice. If I run ultra settings msaa x4 I am averge 70 fps and up from there if I run it on auto I am seeing 100+ fps.
Hard to say if I would recommend them over 7970 or the 680 but I like what I got. For a crossfire setup the heat factor is great, the only that is warm in my system is the nb, it went up about 4 dregees
. Its hot here today and about 78f in the house right now and I am idling at 29c, and loads at 60-65 The cards have good performance power though, I am not dissapointed at all. When there is a better driver and not the hotfix one for the 7800's I think these will truly rock.

Dont let people scare you away from it, for some it never works right, for other it always works right. This is my second crossfire set up and all my problems have been drivers for the most part. Mine is working flawless right now. biggrin.gif

Hmmm so what do you think 1 7950 asus directcu II or 2 7850 twin frozr.
The most compelling thing about these are the power consumption. Whats problematic for me is the price... $360 for mid-range cards... They definitely gotta drop in price. Hopefully the GTX 580's price drop will force their price drop.

I agree this prices suck . Last year the high end AMD was this much. But this the prices they set and they are only going up.
The power on these things are great all in all as well as the heat, just not the price. I half considered returning these but the I said nah tongue.gif
