? Last time I checked, ram didn't spin.

Cpu speed isn't everything. You could have a 2200mhz Core 2 Duo running at the same speed as a 3000mhz 3700+.

If you're buying a new computer, I'd recommend going with intel. If a C2D rig isn't in your budget, I'd get a cheap AMD dual core and overclock it.

Thats interesting. I always thought if you buy computer hardware yourself (not a whole system) AMD it the best choice.

I personally don't like dual core and wouldn't reccomend them.
You kind of pay for something you don't use. But that's just my opinion.

If it's in your budget here a suggestion:
Single Core AMD 64, not FX, to expensive yet.
More that a 3500 wouldn't be smart as they can be overclocked better than
the higher ones.

I don't think you saw the thread with the quad core in action.

it all depends on what cpu you get but usually for amd dfi is the best overclocker and ive scene on intel the cor2duos alot of people use asus boards

and yes once you go dual core id be serprised if you never want to go back to single core again, they are really nice

kind of surf the different sections and see what people are getting as far as overclocks and get a budget rounded up

core 2 duo.
best proc on the market at the current moment.
runs extremely cool, and fast at default clocks. meaning its also very overclockable, some models easily get a 50% overclock and more.
