The Apple monitor is sweet, but only works with Apple pc's. Personally, I don't see the point of ultra high res's without the real estate. I'd want a 2560x1600 that is 30" diagonal, not 27".
My Asus 1920x1200 is 25.5" diagonal. Moving up to 27 would be worth it.

The Dell you listed is nice. I have a 1920x1200 Dell Ultra sharp at work and it is impressive. I think the stretch in your budget would be worth it in the long run.

The stretch meaning I should get the 30" HP? I have 2 22" Dell UltraSharp that are 1920x1080. They're alright. Ok so let's say I want one display, my budget is $1,500. You'd do the HP you linked me?

I personally don't like gaming on multi monitor setups, but if you do and the 1920x1080 can be set up vertically AND if nvidia software can run 3 monitors, then i'd get a thrid and run 3024x1980 - That would be quite a sight.
single monitor - I'd go with the Dell 30" followed by the HP. I have never seen the HP, but it does have less adjustments built in.

Here's a review of the new HP 2560x1440 - I believe it has the same features as the next size up.

No link for the review. That's what I'm saying, though, I'm not a fan of the multi-monitor gaming setups either. I have 8 Dell 2209WAfs, they are 1680x1050. I will definitely not multi-monitor game. I could perhaps disassemble the enclosures and try to custom build a 3150x1680 ? tongue.gif Sounds like too much work....

And the problem still goes on, no monitor. Sad to be all alone in the world...

the 27 and 30" dell ips's are awesome. I've got 2 of the 24.6" dell IPS's (they're a couple years old, don't remember exact model #) and they still look better than most newer monitors i see my friends getting (albeit not high end IPS panels)

Hard Drives

Unboxed the case, installing my hard drives.

1 x Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW160G310 2.5" 160GB
3 x Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB
1 x Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST31000340NS 1TB

Thinking of doing RAID5 on the 500GB drives... or getting one more and doing RAID10 and then I'd get rid of the barracuda. The Intel 320 will be my OS and whatever else I feel like. Not too worried about storage.

Was going to mount the SSD under one of the drives in the 650D but it was a no go.

Current progress

Mobo, CPU, and RAM still aren't in. I'm actually working on taking apart my current i5 760 rig and setting it all up temporarily in the 650D. Also since I haven't really gotten too far with choosing WC parts, I think I'm either going to get the H60 or H100. So tonight I should have all the cables ran and everything looking pretty with the Lynnfield and SLI'd 680s. Let the fun begin.
