Are you saying you have $900-$1000 just for SSDs? Pick up 3 Samsung 830 256gbs

Why 3? Don't I want to RAID0+1 them...? What if I bought 4 x 128GB Samsung 830s. Also I've never seen these. Been an Intel 120 / 320 fan for awhile now. I would definitely want some redundancy on the array so 4 will have to do it. Hmm... 4x256GB are $1200. What to do ... what to do.

You wouldn't see any significant difference between RAID'd and un-RAID'd solid state drives. Your better off sticking to a single one or running multiple ones separately.

Wouldn't it also be a problem that only two of the SATA 6Gb/s ports are native Intel? I imagine you'd have to add a dedicated RAID card to get proper 0+1 support with four drives at the desired spec.

I think I just decided I'd rather not spend the money on the drives if it's not really going to be a performance booster. I'm actually fairly happy with everything right now as is, and I'm waiting for the 3770k...

Been doing some testing, benching, and finding a sweet spot. So far completely stable at 4.4ghz and 4.6ghz at 1.4v. I can most likely bring that down to 1.375 or a little lower. I will find the voltage sweet spot after I figure out how high I can bring this thing stable. Was able to boot 5GHz and 5.1GHz (no screen shot though) at 1.47v. A little high for my liking. This chip seems pretty solid but not sure what to do next week. I got this whole system ready for a 3770k.

Oh and now I need to pick out some decent RAM.

edit:

gah. Prime @ 4.7Ghz failed on core 4 about an hour in. Voltage is at 1.4v. I'm not too happy about it failing because this is the same core that keeps failing on anything over 4.6. I can run the damn thing 24 hours at 4.9ghz and core 4 will fail 1 in. The rest work great.

Edit 11:08PM CST

I really need some suggestions on RAM. I want to get 16GB but not sure which kit to go with. So many choices...
