4) I've tried stuff like rocket dock before and I just don't like them.
I want the first thing I see after logging in to be my wallpaper, not Metro. I don't want to have to use Metro in any way (on my desktop) because there is no need/reason to.

1. Because your lazy?
2. Because 3rd party applications are made to add functionality.
3. The start menu is small, inconvenient, unorganized, and time consuming.
4. Rocket dock has matured greatly over its existence. It runs now super light and consumes barely no resources (8mb of ram).

Windows 8 is Windows 8.

Yeh, you guys need to realize that huge buttons and a UI that organizes stuff in no particular order just adds to the excitement and suspense when you actually find it!

Windows 8 is Windows 8.

That's your opinion and entirely subjective.

People should not have to install a Third party application to have comparable Convenience of windows 7.  It's like ms is moving backwards. doh.gif
