Still worth it to get a Wii at this point?

Thread Starter
I found a pretty good deal, 115 euros for a "as new" Wii, comes with 2 Wiimotes + 2 Nunchuks, 1 MotionPlus, LAN Adapter, Wii Wheel, Wii Rifle, House of the Dead Overkill Hand Cannon (and I assume the game too), Wii Sports, and 1GB SD card.

Now, I already own a PS3, and I know the Wii's the best there is for playing with friends and/or at parties, but how does it fare for playing alone by myself?
I have friends coming over almost every weekend, however I don't want it to gather dust when I'm not with them...

So, what do you think guys? smile.gif

As much as I love Nintendo, probably not. The Wii U is pretty close but I'd advise getting Dolphin (Wii Emulator). It might not be as convenient as the Wii U because there are some problems with some games (but they're working on fixing it) but Dolphin is already out unlike the Wii U.

I have a Wii and its pretty good, easy to soft mod wink.gif, got my games launching from USB, got Netflix on it, BBC Iplayer...

to be honest I dont really play console games myself, thats what my pc is for (online multiplayer) Wii is just awesome for 2+ players.
Only thing I use it for on my own is to watch TV (Netflix/ BBC Iplayer)

If you plan to use it like above I think its worth it (see if you can get it for 100 euro wink.gif

It is always worth getting something if you're gonna use it.

Heck, I bought a NES 6 months ago!

If you plan on modding the drive to allow the use of emulators, then no.

Hmmm Dolphin sounds OK and would be good if you want to play a specific game. Not sure you can get the same living room fun on your PC screen though....

It was never really worth it in the first place, IMO. Good games are rare, and difficult to find amongst all of the shovelware. I'd say just wait for the Wii-U if you really want the "Nintendo experience."

To tell you the truth, I've tried Dolphin, however it seems to stutter quite a bit.
Framerate wise it works fine, however it does stutter every minute or so and it's pretty annoying.

But do you guys happen to know a solution to that?
