Another new mouse thread

Thread Starter
1. What's your grip style?
Claw

2. What's your sensitivity?
Somewhere around 1800 dpi, but I can adjust sensitivity in-game to compensate for a lower dpi.

3. What's your maximum budget?
under $100 unless it is an exceptional mouse

4. Do you want additional buttons?

Back/forward buttons for browsing the internet would be nice but not mandatory, otherwise no preference as long as buttons don't get in the way of normal function

5. What games do you play?
Starcraft 2

6. Do you mind about prediction?
I'm kind of naive about how prediction/acceleration feels/affects my gameplay so I'm not entirely sure, but I'd like the mouse to be as consistent as possible, so no prediction would be better I think.

7. Other relevant information:

I've been using a g9x which apart from a short fling with the razer naga is the only gaming mouse I've used. It is a solid mouse don't get me wrong, but my hand, while not enormous, is a little big for the g9x. It also is a little heavier then I would prefer. So, I am in the market for something new.

I'm looking for a well-built, lightweight mouse that isn't an acquired shape (the plain ambidextrous design of the kinzu/g1 really appeal to me), has consistent tracking, and is not shorter in length then the g9x (108 mm).

The mice that have caught my eye so far are the Zowie AM, the basic Steelseries lineup, Razer Abyssus (maybe even the diamondback), TT Saphira, Roccat Kova, and the logitech g1/g100/g3.

The Zowie I heard has great tracking, but sometimes the left/right click overlap? This seems like a a huge problem.

The steelseries sensei/kana/kinzu v2 pro look like they have good shape/weight, but I'm not sure about the kana/kinzu's tracking and build quality. The sensei has the same slight acceleration as my g9x, which is not a deal breaker, but I would prefer something without this

The abyssus I've heard has the same great sensor as the deathadder but suffers from jittering and build quality, the diamondback is an older mouse I know, but the shape and weight look appealing, I have no idea about its sensor quality

There is almost no information about the TT Saphira, though it looks promising spec-wise, any first-hand thoughts would be appreciated

Not sure about the Roccat Kova tracking

I'm looking very closely at the Logitech g100 right now, its shape, size, and weight look virtually perfect to me, I am trying to dig up information on its tracking

Any other suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated

I ordered an abyssus from amazon this monday for also the main purpose of playing starcraft 2. I'll probably use that mouse until until the Sensei RAW comes out and then goes on a good discount. I like the kinzu v2 pro better than the abyssus, but since the abyssus is like 15 bucks cheaper on amazon and comes with more features, I just chose the abyssus for value alone. However, I still havent gotten it yet after 4 days. I heard mice like CM Spawn are great for claw gripping though, you may wanna try that

i just purchased the kinzu v2 pro off amazon at 40$ pretty good deal with free shipping. Only problem is there are no side buttons but apart from that it seems almost flawless. Its like a kinzuadder. I use a black mousepad so the sensor shouldn't be buggy.
and i believe amazon just added more in stock.

I think you would really like the Logitech G500. It's $70 and has some pretty neat features I have found to be awesome in games. There is a button just behind the scroll wheel which let's you toggle between "click" scroll and "free" scroll. The wheel has bearings so it spins forever. I have found that to be really useful in SCII because I can flick the wheel and zoom in and out in a second wherever I need to.

The mouse has back/forward buttons on the left side which I really like for grenades in BF3 and flashbangs in COD. Web browsing is a good use for it too.

Directly to the left of the scroll wheel are +/- buttons that allow you to change the sensitivity on the fly between low, medium, and high. The L,M,H dpi settings are relative to the sensitivity you choose in windows mouse options or in game sensitivity, so it can be tweaked to match whatever sensitivity you find perfect. I have found the quick dpi controls useful in BF3 when I fly jets (super high dpi) and in paint shop when i need to be accurate to within a pixel (super low dpi).

I really like the g500 since I have so many applications for all of its features. If what I described appeals to you, I'd take a close look at it on newegg and read some reviews. thumb.gif

Did you have to wait months for that to ship.......? It lists 1-2 months to ship that thing, which is why I chose abyssus over it (unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my abyssus and my Track ID just said they started shipping it out of the factory after I just placed the order monday. Thought it would just be 3 days.)

I uploaded this pic of my mouse, gamepad, and hand just in case tongue.gif
448

EDIT: i was reading and im a hybrid btw figertip gripper and palm gripper, but moustly fingertip smile.gif

2. What's your sensitivity?
Somewhere around 1800 dpi, but I can adjust sensitivity in-game to compensate for a lower dpi.

3. What's your maximum budget?
under $65

4. Do you want additional buttons?
Two lateral buttons (left side) for skills. If its posible far enough so i dont need to break my finger to reach them xD.

5. What games do you play?

MMORPGs, some FPS. But moust important I want buy it for GuildWars 2.

6. Do you mind about prediction?

I'm kind of naive about how prediction/acceleration feels/affects my gameplay so I'm not entirely sure, but I'd like the mouse to be as consistent as possible.

7. Other relevant information:
First, sry for my english tongue.gif
I've been using a Genius NetScroll 200 Laser (1600dpi) tongue.gif, yea i know, im from Argentine so its hard to find good mouses, but i want to buy a gaming one. THe other day i had a bad expirience. I bought a 20 dolars mouse and it had like 15mm LoD, super annoing i had to get rid of it inmidiatly. Even this crapy genius common mouse had less than that, this one has like 5mm, i WANT ONE with 1mm-2mm or something like that, i hate that thing.
Also i want one no bigger than this one, i dont like big mouses, i hv normal size hands. Also i dont want to meny buttons that complicates the gameplay.

I was looking around and found this one the A4 Tech X7 V-track Gaming F3 Usb Gamer. Its cheap enough for me, around U$D 50.
250

But i read somewhere that the LoD was really bad. That mouse its like wat im looking for, that size, buttons, etc. but if it has bad LoD defenetly i dont want it -_-. Someone know about this mouse? how bad is the LoD?. If its bad, wat do u recomend? remember im from Argentine so has to be a popular mouse or i ll not be able to find it frown.gif.

Thnk u all and sry for my english again, great community smile.gif

EDIT: btw i dont want wireless, bluetooth, etc. just normal ones with cable.

i think a g500 or g700 would fit nicely. i use g700 wirelessly in starcraft 2 (low, low diamond) and i havent had any issues with it. i have big hands and the shape is perfect, response is great too. downside is that the battery dies real fast (8 hrs or so in heavy gaming) and there are a lot of buttons that i dont really use.
