Anyone ever use a windows file transfer alternative? Like Teracopy?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, has anyone ever tried one of these alternative file transfer programs?

Are they any better than the default windows 7 one?

The reason I ask is that one of my friends uses teracopy and keeps claiming that it is so much better, but then I never see any mention of it on the internet so I dunno if I should try it or not.

Thanks.

Teracopy is great. Ability to pause transfers, view speed, skip files, it really is an excellent program.

typically faster too in my experience.

yup. i'll vouch for teracopy as well. it really is faster. pausing and restarting transfers is great, but the best part is that it auto skips bad files. i hate when a windows copy hangs, waiting for the user to skip a file.

Interesting.

I feel that XP -> 7 was a vast improvement in file transfer implementation and interface.

Is there much system overhead with using an alternative like this?

little to none imo.

overall i find it a better solution than the default copy/move service.

Cool. I'm going to give something like this a try. I also hate the fact that windows stalls the transfer, waiting for you to choose what save method for it to use. Had 40GB worth of photos waiting to transfer for a good 3 hours because of a folder conflict.

teracopy.exe does not run at all unless it's actually copying something. even then it hardly uses any memory. though, i'm not sure how it's memory usage compares to default windows copy.
