So... jealous... in SLI my cards so far won't go even +120 without crashing in minutes. smile.gif +100 is rock-solid though for a speed of 1215mhz actual (at full load).

Argh if these damn things werent out of stock I'd probably buy 2 of them, but now I'm probably just going to pick up the new 7970 Lightning and go 4 way Crossfire. Not to mention the SLI scaling currently on the 680s is struggling in some games compared to the 7970. 80-85% compared to 90-95% for the 7970s

The 7970 Lightning is bad to the bone but significantly overpriced!

Just an update on my card...I am still running +180 on the core and it is rock solid through hours of every form of torture you can throw at it.(BF3, Heaven, 3DMark, Furmark) I did end up dropping the memory back to +425 from +500 because a noticed an occasional artifact in Furmark. At +425 there are absolutely no artifacts. I am very pleased with my card so far. thumb.gif

Also I agree with Madclock. These are launch drivers so SLI probably has a good bit of room for improvement with future drivers.

I think I'm going to perform an experiment... try clocking each card individually and see if maybe SLI is messing up my oc'ability, or if the 680's I have are just poor clockers. For now though I'm going to go try BF3 with auto fan speed, see how high it sets it on its own etc. and temps, since I had been using a curve before.

My card just got up and running and is doing great so far. Not installing the second until tomorrow evening when the 1200w CM SPG goes in, don't feel like doing it tonight, would rather dig into one of the cards right away.

going to see if the force constant voltage feature works. also need to get out of adaptive power mode :\

Was just wondering the same thing. Only had time for 2 tests so far. But I been curious about Afterburner so I opened that up first. I went to NVCP and took it off of 'Adaptive Power Mode', and checked the force voltage option in Afterburner, though the voltage still fluctuates according to the graph during 3dMark11.

So initial runs in 3dMark11- Stock graphics score was ~9600. Added +100mhz in Afterburner and 3dMark11 graphics score went up to ~10200 (sorry, on laptop downstairs now. Will post accurate results and pics when I get a chance to head back up). The voltage graph in Afterburner seems to still show a max of 1.175v even with a +30 voltage offset. With everything at stock, the graph showed the core clock boosting to 1124 (though very quickly, just for a very short period. Maybe more AB voltage offset or Precision power cap offset will do something). With the +100mhz on the core, clock was sitting around 1190mhz average, peaking over 1200mhz.

I gotta say, only had 5 minutes with it so far, more in little bit, but with just throwing 100mhz on the core in Afterburner and not even opening Precision yet, getting ~1200mhz core and staying at 60C with a semi-aggressive fan curve (but definitely bearable), I really do think this card has potential. I like it thumb.gif Now if I hit a cieling of +101mhz I'm going to be pissed, but yeah, 1200mhz with hardly any power-tweaking at all is pretty bad-ass. No guilt whatsoever about passing the 7970 up I've learned my lesson after all of the reading though, and that lesson is that AMD does have a very strong card. I'm just saying that...so do I biggrin.gif and that people really can't go wrong with either card. If you truly have no bias whatsoever and want to do some good-ol' fashioned overclocking, then maybe the 7970 is the card for you. But I gotta say I'm finding overclocking just as easy with the 680 now that I've seen everything for myself. And although I do love overclocking, I have a slight bias because of tessellation power, comfortable with Nvidia drivers, nice/easy features, PhysX, and 3D. I know 7970 can do a lot itself, but there's just not enough overclocking/performance-increase on it to justify me giving up Nvidia.

I'm pretty sure in AB - force constant voltage, and core voltage offset are non functional on the GK104 atm.

A +120/+400 offset on my particular card is 1257mhz/3402mhz and 1.175v 3d clocks.

A +160/+500 offset on my particular card is 1296mhz/3506mhz and 1.176v 3d clocks.

Temp/fan wise I'm really impressed. At this clock I get 61c and my fan curve sits at like 66% while benching and 68c and 75% in a dx11 game I'm beta'ing. Keep in mind I have a pretty aggressive fan curve smile.gif

Also, thinking back over the thread if anyone has fan speed issues or you believe maybe throttling issues related to temp, I highly recommend AB's fan temp hysteresis feature. Set it to 5 and it wont change speed so abruptly.

**edit**

^^OK there's definitely a bug in AB that results in the fan speed dropping randomly when you use a custom curve on the GK104. Core temp and speed stay the same, but the fan drops 10% at a random point and climbs back up. Will try "Force fan speed update on each period", but am unsure of the CPU hit this makes.

**edit**

LOL definitely some funkiness to get used to with the +offset. When I set it with an app open, it drops to Stock+Offset, then adds back 130mhz of "turbo boost".

So for +120 it did 1006+120+131=1257mhz

and for +160 it did 1006+160+130=1296mhz

I like the number 1296, so I'm going to stay at +160 offset for now smile.gif
