I'm sick today, so I've been running my oc's all day. I noticed once I hit +165 on the offset, heaven dies about 16 of 26 into the bench at all maxed settings at 1920x1200. I wouldn't think your waterblock is affecting it (which one are you using?). Possible it needs to be reseated, new TIM, pads, etc. Just shocked it cant even run at stock frown.gif.
Is your CPU OC'd at all?

You liar! biggrin.giftongue.gif

Im currently running at +180 / +430 at 95% power target and with 75% fan speeds, it has been running stable for more than an hour now and been through 5 heaven runs.

When you OC turn the target to 132% and force 1.175v. Max the fan out as well. I'm gaming @135/200 in SLI.

I did the same thing last week bud. 20%'s not worth the $ or hassle of selling off the 580. Not to mention I REALLY like my 580. It's the arctic cooling beast from Galaxy and MUCH quieter than that ridiculous blower on the stock 680's. I'll wait for 50% boost.

The power usage was VERY nice though. It used 70 watts less when idling due to the clock/volt down for dual monitors. I saw almost 100 less when gaming too. W/ the right cooler, and maybe some voltage control, heck maybe some DISABLE TURBO control, it would be ideal.

Yup, Nvidia has potential to make some great cards with these smaller dies, but IMO its not there yet. I don't mind the extra heat and power the 580 needs, knowing that I can still put a heafty overclock on it, and 900-950 mhz on a 580 is not bad. And if i really need more fps, I can always pick up a cheap 580 later, and SLI them. and still have plenty of kick in my system.

I'll just wait 6 months or so, see what comes out between now and then, and see what the true sucessor to the 580 is going to look like.

I will try this again tonight. I am making progress as I can make it into Tessellation Benchmark 4 on 3DMark11 whereas before I was floundering at Step 1.

At stock it goes right through and I played BF3 on Ultra for like 3 hours and got 85-120FPS with no hiccups, so the cards at stock are great. Temps were in the mid-high 50's. Does anyone know why my 570 SLI ran much cooler then these cards in the same setup? Odd no? Hell, Metro 2033 ramps up into the high 50's sitting in the loading screen.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know if it's a problem because I'm running them 8x8 PCI 2? I highly doubt it, but maybe there is an issue.

I'm running 3 evga 680's and I think I might be experiencing bottlenecking. The highest 3dmark P score I can acheive is ~19,000, which is awful scaling compared to two cards. In comparison, my 3 580's would score around 16,800. The reason I think it's bottlenecking and not drivers is that the X score scaled well - with 3 580's I scored ~X6600 and with 3 680's I scored ~X9000.

Also during my Heaven 3.0 run my score only jumped 200 points higher with 3 680's at the same settings as a run with 3 580's.

Thoughts? Components are in my sig.

All I can tell you is to wait for driver releases bro, I was going to pick up a third too but I'll wait.
