680 Overclocking (Calling all owners!) - Page 65

Hmm voltage is still locked? I hope this is only a feature of the mid range Keplers (680 and below). Hopefully GK110 allows us to control the voltage. We won't really know though, until Nvidia provides more details for their upcoming cards. The locking down the voltage might just be an experiment by them.

My GTX is so far running 1240mhz Core and 6750 Mem clocks. Just finished 5 hour gaming session. BF3 @ 6000x1080 High, so i guess it's pretty stable also thumb.gif
I haven't tried Oc'ing Mem higher than that, but I'm happy so far. I'm still thinking if watercooling my card could give me some mhz more.. wink.gif
I really haven't found any info/review about overclocking differences with Air vs Water on same card.. maybe i'm just blind.
My temps run around 67-72c in BF3 with 75% fan.

Water doesn't do much for these cards, without voltage control. My Gigabyte 680 out of the box was max turbo of 1235MHz. Water got me a max stable turbo of 1266MHz, with load temps of 31-32C.

The overclocks are good, but without voltage, they're limited. I know this card has more in it.

So I am just messing with my first OC. Played crysis 2 for a bit. Ran crysis 1 benchmark tool. Everything is great highest temp was 69c. Playing BF3 I am crashing to the desktop. And I have to use the task manager to shut down BF3. So this means my OC is not stable? Weird its just this game and I haven't gotten any message about the driver crashing.

But the game never did this before so...

EDIT Looks like 1200 is not stable. Bummer. Thats the clock I was hoping for.

It seems the beta driver helps with OC stability. Finally reached 11k points in 3DM11:

Man those are some nice clocks. Mine doesn't seem to want to do 1200 even. Heaven crashed at +105.

I might end up putting it on craigslist and trying another out.

Hmm.

Is everything maxed out? I mean Power Target at 132%? Voltages set to 1,175v (I know this one's a bit controversial but maybe it helps)? Fanprofile to help the card stay cool (best would be <65°C)? Perhaps something went wrong with the driver installation and a clean reinstall could help, too. thinking.gif

Yes power target is maxed. I set the voltage hadn't before. Did the fan profile and it has gotten to 69c max.

I think drivers went ok but who knows. Last thing I want to do is reinstall windows though.

Using the 3DMark11 Performance preset I get 14,707 in SLI. Do you think that's solid? I can only get +85 offset and +500 memory. If I touch the core offset it fails. One card at ~1197mhz and second card at ~1147mhz in boost.
