680 Overclocking (Calling all owners!) - Page 69

These cards are very strange. I ran my cards at +85, +500, +132% and that was my max overclock. The actual overall mhz don't matter for this post. I played with them a lot and found that at 120% power I could set my core at +115 and memory at +500 and pass 3DMark11 and play BF3 for about 2 hours at max with no problems.

For some reason lowering the overall power % allowed my 2nd card to move above it's prior limit and now I am able to get higher clocks on both my cards. I hope this makes sense and for those of you out there who are having problems with their cards I hope this helps. Lower the power %.

One of my cards was at 115% while the other at 90%, so it's real tough to find a balance. Good Luck!

offset of 155 GPU and 255 VRAM gets me 11078 graphics score. My 2600K at 5.3GHz gets me 12650 physics score. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3144184

that hyperthreading helps a little thumb.gif

ok, +155 gets me max turbo boost of 1255, which it normally stays pegged at. VRAM can be posted as offset because it is the same for all of us.

If you're wondering why people keep asking for the clocks, I get a 1256MHz boost clock while my offset is only +55 thumb.gif It will vary quite a bit.

If your sig is accurate, it's not mystery why this is happening. A 750W PSU is rather gimpy to be running 2x 680s! Sounds like one card is sucking up all available juice and limiting what the second can get allotted.

yea you're definitely right about that. I've done some comparing with other peoples' offsets and max clocks, none are the same as mine lol

Where are you getting this 750w is skimpy to run 2 gtx680s?

Yeah apparently even a 650w PSU can run SLI 680's.

750w is near the minimum for SLI 680. That, and SB-E is relatively power hungry when overclocked as well.

Check out this Guru3D SLI 680 review, this is the power consumption section. They recommend 750w as a minimum.
