If you run Heaven at stock with EVGA on screen display you should see what your Auto Stock max Boost is. Yes everyone is different, chip dependent. When you add 100+ offset to the core, you are adding that to your max boost. So if you have a high boost already you might only manage 70+ offset. Ive seen mem as low as plus 200. Ive seen some say that +132 power works for them. Others say they over clock and leave Power at 100. Its very much trail and error.

Your card auto clocks to max boost/max volts when needed then down clocks itself to save power/electric and temp... Its very clever but makes finding a stable max clock hard.

this is what i was getting when running unigine on max settings:
236
sometimes the core is 1071 and something is 1084...so what do you recommend?how much should i put in core and mem?

You can not adjust the voltage on these reference cards... there is an option to change it but it will go to 1175 and thats it. Setting your voltage output to 1025 is not a good idea. Seeing as the max on that meter is 1175, people want to go BEYOND that, not limit their card before that... just leave the voltage alone... it will adjust accordingly to your power usage... but like I said.. it is limited..

thanks for all the feedback so far.

turns out i managed to get 1500 in first few unigine runs as I had Ani. turned downed to 4x rather than 16x .... facepalm!

ran again on the same settings as the top 30 thread and get the following results.

Even though my gpu clock and mem clock seem pretty high it doesn't look like I get a similar score as others in this thread with similar settings.

99% gpu load:
GPU Clock = 1285
mem = 3456

However, in game in BF3 I get a significant performance jump after the OC with about 7-10 frames better than at stock .. which ain't too shabby in my book.

As I am a total newb and know next to nothing about Unigine should I be happy with this score or keep looking at how to drag it up a bit?

Everyones card is different. What is your boost clock?? (default boost clock upon opening the card up) (orange arrow on the clock meter).. I can only get +50 on my core clock because my boost clock is already higher than most.

I got a higher score with a way worse CPU to match this card... but could just be the card you got?

First thing I would do is back down the memory to zero. Then slowly raise the core clocks incrementally until you go unstable again then you back down one notch and you have found your best OC for the core clock.

Then you can begin on memory overclocking. Continue to go up incrementally until you reach unstable. Once you hit unstable memory then back down on the memory clock and you'll have found both top core and memory OC.

Also memory overclock do not get you the biggest gains in FPS performance over core clock overclocking.

All cards OC differently and the overclock potential each card has can vary, some do great others average and there are a few that do not overclock well at all.

I spent $1000 on a card and my memory overclock is poor, I do okay with core clock but not memory. One card hits max 1175 MHz core and the other 1201 MHz core. Others with the same video card can do better than me. Only thing the vendor will guarantee is that it can do the core base clocks and no more.

This is what i am getting without oc while running unigine on max settings
236
sometimes the core clock goes to 1084 and sometimes to 1071.

yeah, it's weird. I also sometimes get scores in the 1250 region with a lower offset but it is really random so not really sure what is going on

what I really dont get is that the clock speed seems pretty high so why is this not reflected in the score?
