It seems at 1080P, the GTX 680 is the superior solution, both normal and overclocked. It's hard to argue with that when you're only using one screen

However, as soon as you add 2 more screens, the HD 7970 makes a major case for itself, a case that no amount of overclocking can fix. I have a feeling that in the future, the GTX 680 will be held back by the 256-bit bus and 2GB of vram.

I know the GTX 680 seems amazing right now, but in the future, that lack of extra ram and smaller bus may be the GTX 680's undoing. Future titles that use more resources could be an issue. Hopefully that's not the case.

You know what... they're both great cards still. Those of you that are religiously supporting the GTX 680 need to read this article, especially the part when the HD 7970 is faster in situations that use more VRAM. If you're going multi-card, much like the HD 6970, the extra vram will be a benefit for uber high resolution and detail situations.

GTX 680 has support for 4 screens. Unless you need over 2GB I'd also consider buying Nvidia card.

People that would be worried are those people that keep the card for at least 2+ years. I know 90% of GTX680 will upgrade within that time so 2GB will be fine. Also those that need the Extra vRAM will wait for 4GB version. Nvidia got them covered.

I wonder if there are any benefits with water cooling and this cards. The stock cooler is amazing.

Your 2600K is @ 4.7. Their 3960X is at stock. Makes sense.

You never give up do you?

If you're so concerned about lack of Vram, wait for this:
386

Oh wait, you're not even remotely interested in the GTX 680 are you? But rather, only looking for anything you can complain about it. Let me guess, when this 4GB card releases, you're gonna go around telling people that 3GB is plenty, and 4GB is un-necessary!

Give it up dude.

Why do they bench NVIDIA with Physx on high and AMD with it off in Batman? It would be much more informative if the did NVIDIA both with and without Physx.
