ATi X1900GT overclocking & cooling - Page 4

If you have a the 1st rev. of the card the volt reg's can be monitored via AtiTool, the top temp is the voltage reg temp. It can go 90C+ when you start oc'ing. This will put a low cieling on your OC. I zip-tied a 80mm fan directly on top of that area, only used two corners of the fan (use the little holes in video card itself). My v.r's never go above 60C now, if i were to OC more the cieling would now be due to physical limits of the cards memory or processor.

#30 You have the rev1 of the card, and mine is rev2. I wont lie to you, they just wasnt that hot! BUT, i will put a 120mm fan under the card, just to help overclock. Ill run ATITOOL scan for artifacts for 30 min now, and while its running i will try to touch them again, and see if a get another "reading"

(I cant wait to get water on it)

Ill turn up the core mhz, when i get better cooling, it its stable at 580mhz now but i dont like the idea.
Despite the poor core, its some nice ram thats on these cards 800mhz/1600DDR.

Yes, after 3 hours of tangeling with my watersystem i got the GPU block installed. And ohh what a nice sound, the sound of nothing. The stock cooler was removed and i can hear myself think again! Mm...Ohh! My temps droped from 48CIdle/75Cload to 37idle/40load. Man that was nice to see BUT! It didnt inproved overclock ;( Okay, i got 15mhz more on the core and 30mhz on the ram, and is now running 590mhzcore/830mhzram, but still.. The core needs more juice. But it was nice to get water on the X1900GT for the temps, bling, geekinees, and the little tiny improve in overclock.
As my signeture says, i wont try to vmod.
