So after seeing some fantastic 690 II mods, I decided to take my hand to something similar. So this project log is my attempt at creating another addition to OCN's collection of Mod'd CM 690 II's.

Plan

So first off will be a window cut into a cm 690 II advanced, and mounting a double fan to the front of the case, and in doing so borrowing Dhjj's fan template

For the window, there will be an etched bit of perspex going in there. The etchings will be a continuation of the fins on the exterior of the case already, and will be on the internal side of the window.

After that who knows... Might expand into something far more than I thought it would... So we will see. Very keen to sleeve wires though...

So after waiting for a sunny day in Wellington and freedom from Lectures, I got to dremeling the case.

First off Tools...

After a decent amount of the cutting into the case:

Cutting done on the case's side panel

So that's all that's been done so far. Just have to file down the window. U-Channel it, then get the perspex etched and put in the window. Then that will be side panel done. Then onto the front of the case.

So after an hour of two of filing, I bit of U-Channel to the window:

Nice Curve U-Channeled:

Ill chuck a pic of the panel on the rig in the next update.
So hopefully the next update (which will be installation of the etched perspex) shouldn't be too far away.

Because I am procrastinating from doing an assignment, here is an update with the window on the rig.

Yeah I repainted them to break up that pure chunk of black. Wish they were more shiny but needless to say, rather happy with it regardless.

I would chuck the illustrator files up so you could see the idea I am working with at the moment, but its not on this computer

Hopefully will get this thing finished before Uni resumes.
