Because of the glass screen and great color spectrum of Plasma's including true blacks etc... They look amazing at 1080p. Even if an LCD monitor has 2560 res I personally do not think it looks better. I am sure that can be up for debate. Plasma simulates a CRT really well and we know when LCDs first came out no true gamer wanted to give up their CRT right away. You have an LED and that is cool. I personally think Plasma has better colors and true blacks and looks much better in the dark. However, LED is very close and has other pro's and con's. They are really close in my opinion I just prefer the glass screen and closely it resembles a CRT monitor. You have a nice setup 47" is awesome. I may actually get an LED for my next TV if they surpass Plasma in the color and true blacks area. They use less power and look better if there is daylight in the room. Plus Plasma is really hard on my eyes man they sting....

With triple monitors you get 2 black splits and they are LCD monitors. I would much rather have 1 big plasma tv with no obstructions. To each their own... LCD uses liquid color which looks no where as good as a Plasma. You can spend thousands of dollars on 3 monitors and you dont have 1 big complete screen they are segmented or you can spend $900 for a nice 50 inch plasma which is 1 big screen and I guarantee you will like it better.

I apologize if that came across as bragging it was not my intention.

Speculation at this point August, September or October 2012. Some speculate it is just shy of 680 gtx sli in performance. I find that hard to believe but it could very well be true. It is a monster of a card. if you google gk110 you will see a lot of hits for it. The tesla version of it is already on order by companies for workstations.

GTX 780 is mostly due for a late 2012 or early 2013 release.

"The Nvidia executives we talked with raised the possibility of a GK110-based GeForce being released this year only if necessary to counter some move by rival AMD. That almost certainly means that any GK110-based GeForce to hit the market in 2012 would come in extremely limited quantities. "

My guess is early 2013, maybe CES 2013 face off between HD 8970 vs GTX 780. Although I am pretty sure Nvidia with its 7 billion transistor chip will win on performance. what remains to be seen is the margin. If AMD can be competitive with GTX 770 while having a smaller die size than GK110 that would be good for AMD and the market. It will keep prices competitive. Hopefully we get a fight for 2013.

Proves that you can't even at 4x AA. End of discussion. 36.5 min fps. Note 16xQ will be more taxing than 4x AA. 4x AA is not maxing the game out, 16xQ is. Also, note that the 7970 Ghz Edition is an AMD overclocked card and still cannot max out Crysis and Radeons run this game better than Nvidia for the time being. Overclocking the 256 bit memory on the GTX doesnt do much. This game requires SLI or CFX with OC cpu on max settings.

I agree with you it most likely will be early 2013. I will definetly be picking up the limited quantity in late 2012 if I can. Ebay is usually a good place for engineering samples and what not.

My 670 runs the game at 60+fps. But you are 100% right about the memory. The difference between running at Stock memory clocks and +550 on the memory is quiet a bit in that game(higher then the core clocks effect on the game), AMD for sure has Crysis 1(and other memory intensive games) in the bag until Nvidia releases cards with higher bus width.
