*URGENT* can reformated data be recoverd? - Page 3

How fragmented it is, is also a situation. The software will get the files, but since some are split up it dosnt know where one starts/begins and where the next part of it starts/ends. However if your dealing with small files, ie text files, they shouldn't be fragmented, or at least much.

It auto defraged every day, and the 100 or so files that need recovery are all text doc less than 1mb.

The link I gave you earlier I think will work for you. They also have a trial addition but not sure how extensive it is. I would definelty try it.

His data is fine. Formats arent the death of info. It would take several times of writing 0's to an entire drive to erase it. Any data recovery place can get it if you need and i think there are tools to do it (though not as effective that is why places are out there that do this stuff)
