I have a 1GB GTX460 SE and I play the game at 1080p, 0xAA but with everything on Ultra. Page filing is turned off on my PC. How is it that I don't get this error but a GTX570 user is getting this error?

That is a very good point, who knows wackosmiley.gif

Like I said its a memory leak, I get it while running in window mode. Thats one of the reasons I dont play anymore. One thing that helps is closing everything you have then playing the game, browser, av, msi afterburner anything. BF3 turned into a giant memory hog if left on long enough.

I have never seen that error and I played for 12 hours straight the last time I played. But I also have 3GB of dedicated video memory. However, I don't ever recall seeing the memory usage over 1.5GB and my MSI overlay is always on.

Some people who have downclocked their cards had the problem go away. Also, some people who have turned down the settings had the problem go away.

I think it's from an unstable GPU clock. They can also come with stock clocks not completely stable. It depends on the bin of the chip. Just because it passes X stress test doesn't mean it will pass all forms of stress testing. Just as a Prime95 stable CPU might crash using IBT.

Trust me I get the same exact error and I leave the gpu-z monitor on, and the peak memory it hits is never more than 1800mb and I have 3gb cards. i cant for the life of me figure this issue out. I have been chasing it for the past couple months. Windows install didnt change a thing either, neither did ANY sets of non beta or beta drivers. Who knows?

That's funny I'm reading about this, my setup just locked up while playing BF3 with a DirectX Device Hung error. I've tried everything too, no overclock, retested my RAM/CPU overclock for 16 hours, ran a bunch of memtest loops, everything is stable. My paging file is automatically set to 6GB and my GPUs have 3GB of VRAM.

I googled my problem and read through your thread too, seems like theres no end in sight.

I believe the directx errors is down to the latest nvidia 296 drivers, I never had directx error prior to updating to the 296 driver. But the question remains intact regarding Bf3 crashing to desktop almost daily basis regardless of gpu overclock.

Do you play any other games? I literally play nothing else ever, not even anything installed, so Id like to know if anyone has gotten the error with any recent drivers on any other game?
