edit: Yes, also the internet. People used to actually go over to friends' houses to game. Now they just play at their own house, but online with their friends. And then they troll on their mics just to out- d-bag eachother and annoy everyone else in the server.

Lol? I grew up in the 90s and none of my friends complained about the graphics of games like Sonic, or Goldeneye 64, or Zelda. I don't recall any outrage about the storyline or plots of the games; except perhaps that PSone games generally had longer cutscenes, better (or more) music, and some N64 owners were mad about that. Everyone I knew, even the haters, were focused on gameplay. Well, actually everyone thought the N64 had amazing graphics. And then they were blown away by the Dreamcast. And it was a sidegrade to PS2, except there were so many more games. Now, everyone whines about graphics quality way too much. I think the precise point when gamers became overwhelmingly whiny and spoiled was with the original Xbox. But now? Idk. I can't really relate to people born after 2000. They don't even know what real music is.
