whats better for gaming; 560sli or 670? - Page 2

thanks for the responses guy. my cpu is i5 2500k and psu is xfx 750w. Anyways the majority states on single card, which I'd have to agree with. A lot of validity on the part where 1gb is gonna cripple me a lot. Guess I can just wait. Or should I get a 7950?

7950, 7970, or GTX 680...they'll all max out BF3 without using MSAA (use FXAA instead).

You can probably find a used 7970 for the price of a new 7950, with warranty in tact (buy an MSI, Asus, or Gigabyte card). If you do go the AMD route....try to find a non reference card if you're going to keep it stock. If you don't mind buying an aftermarket cooler for it...then go for reference and deal with the leaf blower till you get the aftermarket cooler.

Eh, 1gb on BF3 is pretty brutal. I've hit the the vram wall a lot on it. 560sli should be plenty of power for the game.

I would imagine the 670 would be a better choice, but no telling until we know the specs.

Even though the specs arn't out just yet I would be willing to bet the 670 will be a better experience. No micro stutter, no extra heat, less driver issues, less power, etc... 560ti SLI may be better in benches but that is about it.

I play at 2560 X 1600 High Settings/4XMSAA/4XAF at nearly 40-60 FPS locked and don't hit a VRAM limit till 16XAA, but ti doesn't look any different because at this rez, AA is not as needed.
560's run out of power at higher resolutions.

i myself play bf3, can you tell me what dissapointed you in the sli 560's setup?i have one 560 already and much cheaper to get one of those than a 680....

how do you find a non reference card, and whats the difference?

A lot of people called the lenzfire report bogus and lies. I think someone there did know something.
The nvidia rep said they expected more from amd and the 7970. He also said 45% more performance than amd.
I bet the 680 was scheduled/planned to actually be the 660ti. Why sell the 660ti for $300 when they can sell it as a 680 for $500 ?
